Who We Are

The Community-Led Town Hall Initiative, Peoria Pulse is ​dedicated to fostering dialogue between the residents of ​Peoria, IL, and their elected officials, with the ultimate goal of ​influencing policy and driving positive change within our ​community. Through these town hall meetings, we seek to ​address pressing local issues, empower community voices, and ​promote transparency and accountability in local governance.

Our Organizing Committee

Coordinator:


Oversees the overall ​planning and execution of ​the town hall meetings, ​ensuring that all elements ​are in place and that the ​event aligns with the ​initiative’s goals.

Logistics Manager:


Responsible for securing ​the venue, arranging ​seating, audio-visual ​equipment, and ensuring ​the venue is accessible to ​all community members ​(including but not limited to ​support and accessibility ​to those in our community ​with disabilities and those ​that are immuno-​compromised.)

Communications

Lead:


Manages outreach efforts, ​including media relations, ​social media campaigns, ​website and community ​engagement, to maximize ​attendance and ​participation.

Panel ​Coordinator:


Identifies and invites ​experts, community ​leaders, and council ​members to participate in ​the panel, ensuring a ​diverse and knowledgeable ​representation.

Our Volunteer Teams

Outreach Team

Engages with local organizations, ​neighborhood associations, and ​community groups to raise ​awareness and gather support for ​the initiative.

Event Support Team

Assists with event setup, ​registration, and providing ​guidance to attendees during the ​town hall.

Documentation Team

Records the proceedings, ​takes notes, and collects ​feedback to share with the ​broader community and for ​future planning.

Our Town Hall Format

Opening Remarks:

  • A brief introduction to the purpose of the town hall, the ​key issues to be discussed, and the goals of the initiative.

2. Panel Discussion:

  • A moderated discussion featuring invited experts, ​community leaders, and council members. Each panelist ​will be given the opportunity to speak on the identified ​issues, offering insights and potential solutions.

3. Audience Q&A:

  • A designated time for community members to ask ​questions, share their perspectives, and engage directly ​with the panelists.

4. Closing Remarks:

  • A summary of the key points discussed, any agreed-upon ​action items, and a call to action for continued ​community involvement.
